About Adams Painting
I am a painting contractor that grew up in my father’s painting business where I helped out through my mid teens. After my father closed his business and went to work for a large union company, and then eventually became an apprentice instructor for the Dayton Cincinnati Union Painting Apprentice Program. I went on to work for my father’s competitor where after graduating from high school, I started my own painting business.
Originally, I used painting as a way to pay
my way through college, unbeknownst to me that it would become a
life long career. I graduated from Miami University with a degree
in Business Management and Marketing and a minor in Motivational
Psychology. I am now have over 24 years in business. I currently
employ 6 full time painters who range in experience from 2 years to
40 years worth of experience. And with a total combined of 125
years of painting experience that we bring to the job site. I also
employ 2 non painting personnel; a full time carpenter who dabbles
in plumbing and a certified electrician. We also provide the
capabilities of doing small drywall projects and plaster repairs as
well as hanging wall coverings.
We are a small commercial painting company
that specializes in Commercial, New Construction and Commercial
Renovation, painting & specialty, Decorative Floor Coatings,
Industrial Maintenance Painting, where we provide specialized
coatings for all types of applications such as extreme temperatures
(high and low), high humidity and areas that get extreme wear as
well as being a general polymers industrial floor coating, certified
installer. We also specialize in churches and both residential
repaint and custom new residential projects.
Mission Statement: To provide a variety of paints and coatings for a wide range of applications. Where a customer can get the highest quality job for the fairest price through which long business relationships can be formed.
We have a proven track record over the last 24 plus years of 100% customer satisfaction. I want to validate this statement by saying that we are not perfect, but if we make a mistake, we fix it. Our goal is to leave every job with a happy customer!
We provide background checked, drug tested, professionally dressed, family oriented employees. We have a long employee retention span so employees are familiar with each other and all aspects of painting systems. Having such long employee retention allows us to be very efficient which aids in us providing prices that are economical to our customers.
As a company and individuals, we all have been certified in Renovate Right which is a certification for using lead safe work practices. Beyond that, my supervisors received the HUD Lead Renovator Training that allows you to receive your Federal Lead Abatement License. We also have attended General Polymers Floor Training which allows us to be a Certified GP Installer. Along with the many in house training sessions I provide in our shop setting. We also attend any pro show that fits into our schedule that will allow us to learn all new techniques as well as all new products that will, in the long run, allow us to once again, provide the most economical pricing.
We are a family owned business that strives to provide great service, great pricing done in a timely fashion, while smiling the whole time. In an attempt to break the stereotype that most construction field employees bring to the jobsite.
I am an extremely motivated individual that has learned that success only comes from hard work with a little bit of being blessed. I feel that I have a unique view of a family business, where I see 2 distinct types at work in my company. I am lucky enough to have had my father come to work for me as a Superintendent and to also have my teenage son work for me as an entry level employee. But also the majority of my employees are not related; however I see them as an extension of my family as their families are also fed by our success.
We are located in Eaton, Ohio, where I have lived for the last 30 plus years. My current residence of over 10 years is located in an old family neighborhood. But my shop and business operates out of the location at 2751 Eaton Lewisburg Road, outside of city limits.
We chose to base out business out of the Eaton Community because we have found it to be a very inviting and sharing community. A lot of the values that we personally hold dear for our family and business are predominantly shared in the community. For example, hard work, commitment to God and family, as well as sharing leisure time in the community.
My future goal is to maintain a stable business structure that will allow me to build it as the time and economy permit. My view of a successful business is not just of making high profits but building a stable platform in which employees can provide their families a suitable living which allows for growth each year.
We have provided many services to many local businesses such as International Paper, Preble County Engineers Office, Eaton Community Schools, Visitation Church, Bob Evans and many others. We also have provided to many out of area companies such as Grede Holdings, Wernle Schools, Earlham College, Miami University, Best Buy, Dunham’s Sports and many others. We also provide many residential services to builders such as Terry Miller, Bob Beneke and individuals like the Fergusons.
We love to stay in the area from Dayton, Cincinnati to Indianapolis, but have no problem travelling to other areas of the country to provide a service. We have worked from Michigan to West Virginia to both Carolinas, Tennessee and out to St Louis. If possible, we would travel from coast to coast, wherever the work may fall.
Some of our most challenging jobs are from your average custom home where I have the task of pleasing an interior designer. To completing a project with difficult scheduling like the Eaton Middle School that we just completed. Or the new Athletic Fields in Eaton where privately funded money was used for the new facilities. To potentially dangerous environments like Grede, which is a steel mill, and blast furnaces are nearby. To working with unfamiliar general contractors like on a large Wal-Mart project.
Recently, we donated a large portion of the work and paint at the New Eaton Athletic Fields. Where a new field house was built along with a new football stadium. We also are a large supporter of 4H and the Preble County Fairgrounds where we have not just donated money, but paint and labor to do many projects like barn roofs, Bruner kitchen and perimeter fencing.
Adams Painting is also a co-founder of G1 Charity that helps needy families around the holidays.
